Dee Vine

When the war started, Dee was at the top of her game. She was confident, respected, and knew what she was doing. Her skills were so good that she was recruited to the prestigious high-tech military group known as Re-Up. Re-Up is a private military corporation that handles all military affairs for the government. Dee is considered the best there is and she loves it.

Then, everything changed.

Dee's ex-husband was an American soldier and was killed in battle. Dee was devastated and took the loss very hard. That night, she had a nightmare where she saw her husband's body, bloodied and mangled, floating in the ocean. In her dream, Dee couldn't save him. She woke up and was shaking and sweating, but no one believed her. She decided to take matters into her own hands.

She broke into the military headquarters, found the computer system, and uploaded all of the information about her ex-husband's death. She watched as every file got deleted and then she went on the radio to announce her intentions to expose Re-Up for what they really are: murderers.

As soon as she did, Re-Up sent a team of men to her house. Dee and her daughter were taken into custody and put on trial for treason.

Dee has spent the last six years behind bars, unable to speak about what she knows and unable to get out of Re-Up's clutches.

I love this story of a woman who fights against a corrupt government to reveal their crimes against the people they claim to serve. The author skillfully weaves in suspense and intrigue as Dee is arrested and put on trial.
