The student was filmed at work and the incident was not confirmed by police.

The incident took place on Monday night near the University of Manchester and the student was caught on surveillance video standing alone, attempting to enter the classroom.

It is understood no drugs or alcohol was found on the student, who is believed to have been working as a student in the office while it took place.

It is being reported by the Manchester Evening News as a 'thunderous situation'.

Student told police she was using the restroom.

She said: "I just was in a rush with my phone ringing.

"I went out to use the bathroom so my student was in no way present. I'm really just trying to explain it to her as to what's going on.

"There was probably some kind of drug in her system. There was certainly alcohol in her system. However, I've never actually seen a drink or something like that.

"I was just so upset by the situation that I thought I was going crazy when I got caught."
