The day of the protest, he said he was going to be my personal bodyguard. I laughed. He laughed. But he followed me everywhere I went.

But when the protesters showed up, he stood in front of me and took charge. The protesters had all these colorful signs and they were shouting. But they were all just a bunch of little kids. They were throwing stuff at us and I thought they were going to hit me with a rock.

The next thing I knew, he had this boy on the ground. He was pressing him down with his knee and telling him to shut up.

I knew then that he was going to be my personal bodyguard for life.
