British blonde riding out the doors of the old shop in order to be reunited with her parents (she was already there but in the car when she went back to get her clothes). She'd already come out of the car and gone out to the house. The boy had been home. She and her parents arrived there and the woman said they'd heard from her parents and called her, "Hey, come get me!"
Sometime in the next year or so, at least one of these older adults had decided to visit her in the car and show her the apartment. When her parents got to the scene of the car hitting the little girl, the older woman had a great big grin on her face as she talked about the little girl and said to herself, "I'm sorry about that girl, I should've just known that would've happened because all I had seen there was a white car, that black guy on the freeway, and the back of a white sedan that was on all fours. I don't remember that happening any more. I didn't ever talk to that kind of white person again, at least not at night. I have no idea what happened then."
She knew immediately that there would never continue to be any kind of relationship between her father and her Uncle (the one for whom she still kept most of her belongings and the one for whom she left school so she didn't have much more to be afraid and lonely in college and later working at her
