Excalibur (USA 1981, Rhonda Jo Petty, Melanie Scott)

Excalibur is a 1981 novel by Rhonda Jo Petty and Melanie Scott. This historical novel tells the story of twelve-year-old Eileen and her life in London, England during the 1920s. Eileen is a shy, innocent girl who is terrified of being noticed for the wrong reasons. Her world is rocked when she learns that she is the descendant of King Arthur, and she has a duty to find the Holy Grail and bring peace to the land. The novel begins with Eileen’s parents telling her the story of how she was born, and it ends with her going off to college.
