In the cold of winter, a japanese woman has gone out to the garden to cut down some branches. The snow has fallen and covered the ground in a blanket of white. Her breath can be seen in the air as she cuts the branches, working quickly to finish before the cold air chills her too much.

A sharp sound of a saw echoes through the garden as she cuts down a branch. A pile of logs is stacked by the side of the house, and she carries it over to the pile. A smoke coming from the chimney shows that someone is inside, and she knows that it is her mother.
Her mother had been too sick to come outside and help her, so she had gone out to do it herself. When she enters the house, she is greeted by her mother with a smile. She helps her mother get up from her chair and walks her to the kitchen table. They both sit down and she places a cup of tea in front of her mother.
“Thank you for going out there, my daughter.” Her mother takes a sip of tea and smiles at her daughter. “It was very kind of you to help me.”
