On the same day on October 19, 2012, the company told the Daily Mail in a written statement that "I received no further notification. I cannot speak for any other company which provided a similar statement to the ECC [European Commission]" in response to claims.
The company did not respond to a request for comment from ECC.
On December 1, 2012, the Daily Mail reported on the revelations of a major UK bank, Barclays, ordering that all of its 1.7 billion euro-denominated deposits be withdrawn. That was followed by the bank's announcement in an EFE Letter that it would no longer issue large debt securities. The newspaper reported that the order came at the behest of Deutsche Bank, the bank which had been at the centre of the scandal before.
