In late 2013, a former Hollywood star, who was just 18 at the time, told his story of violence before he began writing about it on his podcast, The Savage Savage.
Moore was living in Los Angeles, and had been living there since he was 15 with his two great older sisters. But she started to fear for his safety at the age of 11, when her friend, Ryan McWilliams, ran into her and beat her for a week on a crowded street.
"She would tell me, 'We're going to have to tell you something this time, we're going to get down with these guys, come here and kiss my ass'," Roy recounted. "And I was like, 'No I'm not fucking kidding. They're coming.'"
She also told his story of being slapped on the back, thrown down an elevator shaft and thrown to the floor by men all over the city.
"And then I heard, like, these guys came up on the street around 1:30 a.m. And they said, 'We didn't do it. Come take a seat. We're in here.'"
As soon as two men entered, an argument started, Roy says, and in all the yelling and screams from the others, they made him flee into the woods as his friend came outside.
